About Damayan

Damayan empowers low-wage Filipino workers, particularly women domestic workers, to fight for their labor, health, gender, and immigrant rights. Damayan's purpose is to build a membership base, develop social justice leaders and mobilize them to combat labor trafficking and wage theft, and demand fair labor standards towards economic and social justice for all. The new ED will succeed the outgoing ED, Linda Oalican, who co-founded Damayan in 2002 and has led Damayan to become a sanctuary for labor trafficking survivors, a powerful voice on labor trafficking and forced migration, and a leader in the local and national domestic workers movement.
