About Close the Gap California
Are you seeking an opportunity to be a part of a team focused on systems change? Close the Gap California recruits progressive, self-identified women to run for targeted seats in the California State Legislature, towards the ambitious goal of closing Sacramento’s gender gap by 2028 and setting the nation’s gold standard on equity. Founded by volunteers in 2013, our small but mighty team of staff is bolstered by a statewide network of volunteer leaders who identify and guide our prospective candidates. We power a year-round campaign, and with each election cycle, we are changing the face of the California Legislature. 12 Close the Gap Recruits are serving today, 11 of them women of color.
