This position also supports Community Change Action, an affiliated 501(c)(4) advocacy organization. While motivated by the same core values – equity, inclusion, and justice – Community Change and Community Change Action operate independently of one another and each organization has its own board of directors.
Position Description:
The Technology Support Coordinator is an integral position on the Technology & Data Team. This individual will be someone who not only understands technology, but one who can implement it and help others understand how to use it, while being willing to suggest improvements and aid in refining existing systems and procedures.
This individual will interact with all levels of the organization and provide critical support across teams, providing a bridge between staff and our current IT Managed Services Provider (MSP).
A portion of time will be spent working with Community Change’s sister organization, Community Change Action.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Triage and ensure timely resolution and escalation of technology support requests between staff and current MSP
- Expedite and facilitate technology onboarding and offboarding as it pertains to account and equipment setup, being one of the first points of contact for new hires
- Create and send communications to staff and consultants regarding technology and security updates
- Instruct staff in the use and operations of various software programs
- Assist with purchases of technological resources
- Process and track invoices and payments for vendors
- Manage and update technology assets in inventory system, maintaining accountability and movement of assets
- Setup and support meeting space audio-visual technology in our DC office as needed
Qualifications:
- At least two years of experience in a technology support related role
- Preferred some technical support certification, e.g., MCSA or ITIL
- Proficient in the following technology platforms and their associated applications or services: Apple, Google, Microsoft, Slack, Zoom
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to coach/guide people through technology related issues
- Be proactive and have ability to anticipate issues
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well both independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Knowledge of remote-first organizational culture and systems
- Commitment to Community Change mission and values
Supervisory Responsibility: This position will report to the Deputy Director of Technology Infrastructure.
Travel Requirements: Less than 10% travel annually.
Classification: Community Change recognizes a staff bargaining unit affiliated with IFPTE Local 70, a union for non-profit workers. This position is included in Community Change’s bargaining unit and is covered under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
Salary and Benefits: $70,000-$75,000 annual salary. Community Change also offers an excellent benefits package, which includes 4 weeks of annual paid vacation; additional paid holiday leave between December 24 and January 1; 8% employer contribution to retirement account after six months of employment (and 3% employer contribution for the first 6 months); and a choice of generous health insurance plans.
Position Location: This position is hybrid-remote and located in Washington, DC. A minimum of two (2) days per week will be required in the office.
