Ground Game LA + POWER are members of the Homes Guarantee Campaign and are working to guarantee a right to housing for all in Los Angeles, California and the United States. We are looking for an organizer who can develop tenant leaders to work collectively to build tenant power in their own buildings and neighborhoods, and connect that organizing with a clear vision and strong commitment to advancing the Homes Guarantee. We are seeking an organizer who can:

  • Build and maintain relationships with tenants in privately-owned housing
  • Develop power with organized groups of tenants
  • Do outreach to identify, recruit and develop grassroots leaders
  • Work with leaders to create demands, goals, and strategies to win
  • Work with programming staff to host leadership development events
  • Train, supervise and lead volunteers and grassroots leaders in community canvasses
  • Represent the organization in coalition meetings and activities


  • A strong commitment to grassroots democracy and progressive social change
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish (written and oral) required
  • Ability to keep commitments to community members, supervisors, and partners, and to hold those same people accountable to their commitments in a way that fosters growth
  • Proficient in Airtable, Zoom, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Email, Digital Calendars and similar technologies
  • Experience with community organizing, grassroots mutual aid, or similar community work
  • Ability to communicate clearly with flexibility, compassion and respect
  • Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment, ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Shows respect and sensitivity and promotes a harassment-free environment
  • Has a vehicle and can work throughout Westside Los Angeles, Central Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley
  • Flexible hours


Status: Full-time, Regular, Exempt, benefits eligible

Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000

Location: Remote, Hollywood, CA
