Overview
International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 21 (IUPAT DC21) is seeking a part-time Field Organizer for the 2025 New Jersey Primary election cycle. The Field Organizer will work with the Political Action department to organize and launch labor walks in support of endorsed candidates throughout North Jersey. This position is part-time, the Field Organizer will be expected to work between 10-15 hours per week, weekend hours included.
Roles/Duties:
- Manage and train IUPAT DC21 members for canvasses and labor walks
- Build up understanding of area for field operations
- Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with IUPAT DC21 members, IUPAT DC21 organizers and agents, other local labor unions, local political organizations, and campaign staff
- Provide weekly reports regarding performance of field activities
- Work with Political Action department to implement department goals across the region
- Support Director of Political Action to recruit and confirm members for canvasses and labor walks
Job Requirements:
- Prior organizing experience preferred (paid, volunteer, or internship)
- A background in working with NGP VAN or similar voter activation network software preferred
- Must be comfortable speaking in public and training members and possess strong communication skills
- Detail oriented and thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license. Travel is required
