When you join PPGNY you will act as a member of the External Affairs department and is primarily responsible for increasing the reach of our organizing work by leveraging online engagement and tactics to bring powerful, grassroots support to advance sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice.

Additional responsibilities include:
Responsible for monitoring the voter database, customer relationship management (CRM) system, and digital organizing tools for consistent usage so that the External Affairs department has accurate and timely data and technical support that can be used for digital organizing and communications.
Support external communications strategies, including drafting and copyediting content for mass email, event and advocacy forms, SMS, peer-to-peer texting programs, social media platforms and relational organizing tools. Draft digital marketing emails to energize supporters and engage donors. Develop and refine digital calls to action and communications strategies to engage volunteers and supporters.
Lead trainings to provide staff and volunteers with a wide variety of data skills including entering data in the voter database, utilizing member data, setting up forms and emails using the CRM, and effectively utilizing digital organizing tools. Support volunteer-led data work.
Collaborate with department leadership to develop and implement virtual advocacy and educational campaigns to engage and educate PPGNY supporters and advance PPGNY’s mission.
Provide EveryAction user support to Organizing and Communications staff, as well as staff in Development, Education, and other departments as needed. As needed, create and present reports for teams to assess program efficacy. This role oversees usage of the volunteer database and ensures accurate and timely input of program data in VAN.

You have:
A demonstrated commitment to PPGNY’s mission related to bodily autonomy, health equity, and gender and racial justice
High school diploma/GED
2+ years of related and/or applicable organizing experience, including digital organizing, and a proven ability to motivate and train volunteers
1+ years of experience in communications and marketing (internship experience included), ideally in health care, advocacy, or nonprofit setting
Proficient in EveryAction/VAN or a similar CRM
Superior oral and written communication skills
Ability to develop and maintain effective, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Outstanding time management skills, including the ability to work under deadline
Ability to work a flexible or extended schedule, including evenings and weekends, as operational demands require

All positions at PPGNY require:
Proof of immunization or immunity to certain communicable diseases (including influenza during the flu season) and testing for tuberculosis. These certifications are required by the NYC DOHMH Health Code, NYSDOH and OSHA.
