In 2024, Relentless is running a first-of-its-kind compensated relational program at scale across battleground states using Rally. This program will hire 20,000+ low turnout voters to become relational organizers in their communities and turn their friends and families out to vote. We’re looking for a creative, experienced digital campaign professional to help power and scale this program.

The Deputy Director for Digital Recruitment will oversee the National Digital Recruitment Program.

As the Deputy Director for Digital Recruitment at Relentless for the 2024 National Program, you will play a key role in driving our digital engagement efforts for both the Summer and Fall Programs. You will oversee the day-to-day management of our paid digital programming and social media recruitment initiatives, ensuring consistent and high-quality content across all channels. Your responsibilities will include managing and executing both paid and organic content creation on social media as well as targeted digital advertisements in the five program states. You will oversee the strategic recommendations and implementation of the digital program, coordinate with digital vendors, and hire and manage a team of Strategists, ensuring we reach thousands of potential mobilizers. A great Deputy Director of Digital is someone who lives and breathes all things internet, media and advertising. You are someone who is up to date on the latest trends, understands the importance of authentic messaging and knows how to engage and grow an audience across multiple digital platforms. You are an extremely organized person that enjoys getting creative on new ways to recruit and activate voters, and tackling large scale projects. You can stay on top of deadlines and priorities while also seeing the big picture of the election cycle.

The Deputy Director for Digital will report directly to the Director of Recruitment and Partnerships and assist them in managing both paid and organic media programs day-to-day operations, in tandem with the entire Recruitment program. This role will hire, onboard, and manage staff, oversee the health of the program through metrics and tests, and complete other duties necessary.

This is a full-time, remote, and temporary position with an target start date of June 11th, 2024 and an end date of November 15, 2024.

Location: Remote
Compensation: $7,000-$8,000/month
Benefits: 100% employer-paid health and life insurance, 99% employer-paid dental and vision insurance

JOB DUTIES

  • Hire and manage the Digital program that will leverage platforms like TikTok, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), and Snapchat to create highly targeted social media ads. These ads will reach potential mobilizers based on demographics, interests, location, and voting history.
  • Work with contracted digital firms to ensure that messaging is cohesive, authentic and creative across all channels
  • Utilize Google Ads for search engine marketing by bidding on relevant keywords such as “Democratic campaign jobs” and “jobs in voter mobilization/community engagement” to ensure our program appears prominently in search results.
  • Target users actively seeking information related to civic participation, capturing their interest and directing them to Relentless’ program.
  • Engage influencers, community leaders, state parties, and prominent figures who resonate with our target audience. Leverage their platforms and influence to amplify our message and encourage participation in our program.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages professional growth and development.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-3 years of experience in developing and executing successful large scale digital programs for political candidates, advocacy groups, or similar organizations at a state-wide or National level.
  • 1-2 years of direct management experience in a remote or in-person setting
  • Experience with Digital Engagement and Social media tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, social media scheduling tools).
  • Enthusiastic about learning new tools and platforms
  • Experience running and analyzing A/B tests
  • Exemplary grammar and writing skills
  • Experience working in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of current trends in political environment
  • Proactively fosters an inclusive atmosphere and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Ability to craft compelling narratives and develop creative content that resonates with diverse audiences; Strong strategic thinking skills to align digital efforts with overall campaign goals and objectives.

  • Proven interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships with staff at all levels

This work will require being available nights and weekends during peak program days and as Election Day nears. The Deputy Director for Digital Recruitment should expect to be online and available six days a week from September 3rd-November 6th.
