Compensation: $70,000 Annual Salary with Bonus (see additional compensation details below)

About the Role
We’re seeking a Political Compliance Specialist to work as a member of our compliance team in the political campaign landscape. This person will work on varied types of client accounts including Candidate Controlled Committees, Political Action Committees, Ballot Measure Committees, 527 Organizations, and more.
Principal Job Duties
Conduct monthly reviews of contributions and expenditures to ensure compliance with political campaign finance regulations.
Prepare reporting review worksheets, including calculation and/or transaction detail review, using existing Excel templates and political/compliance software.
Assist compliance team with expenditure allocation entries.
Assist in preparation of voter communication cost tracking, using Excel and information provided by clients.
Assistance in timely filing of disclosure reports, including timely filing of certain reports within the 90-day pre-election period, which are due within 24 hours.
Research campaign finance regulations and provide to senior staff and/or clients upon request.
Assist in preparation of tax returns.
Attend weekly division meetings and monthly firmwide meetings.
Work with the team on special projects as assigned.
Key Qualifications
At least 7 years of professional experience. This can be through either direct work experience, or professional and educational experience combined.
Experience working within the political landscape, such as electoral campaigns, Political Action Committees, ballot measure campaigns, 527 Organizations, or related spaces.
An excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to effectively inform others, non-experts, on legal and compliance recommendations and needs.
A self-starter that can work independently, often with little direct supervision.
A growth mindset with the willingness and desire to learn more about political finance and compliance regulations and laws.
You May Excel In This Role If You Have:
Experience in campaign or organizational finance, compliance, and/or management.
Understanding and knowledge of state and federal campaign finance laws and reporting.
Experience with campaign finance and compliance in multiple states, or organizations on the federal level.
Experience managing organizational or campaign budgets and finance.
Paralegal experience

Compensation
This position is full time, salary, exempt, with benefits. We offer good benefits and perks, and flexible work schedules to support outside interests and family life. Our work is somewhat seasonal and a heavier workload can be expected in election years.
$70,000 per year starting salary
Annual bonus between $15,000 – $20,000
