Opportunity
The Sacramento Community Land Trust is seeking a strategic and visionary executive
leader, skilled organizational manager and experienced community builder, fundraiser,
and advocate who can successfully advance our mission of providing and protecting
permanently affordable housing to historically discriminated community members.

Job Description
The Executive Director of the Sacramento Community Land Trust will lead the
organization’s development, financial, and marketing programs to preserve or build
multiple very-low and low-income housing units to help prevent displacement of
historically discriminated Sacramento residents.
The Board of Directors has laid the groundwork over the last five years by establishing
baseline programs in each of these areas including a draft project list, consistent
community meetings and coordination, tax reporting and financial management
programs, and social platforms and marketing strategy.
The ED will work to refine and lead the financing of the organization’s five-year
development plan to scale up to 10+ housing units per year. To implement this plan,
the ED will be expected to develop an annual plan and budget to accomplish
identified goals and objectives, which includes grant writing and fundraising efforts.
As a community-centered organization, the ED will work with community and members
to develop procedure and application process for selecting residents to be on an Advisory Board. On a monthly basis, the ED will confer with the Board to discuss
priorities, challenges, and potential changes to the organization’s annual plan.

Hours, Compensation, and Benefits

● Salary Range: $80,000-$100,000
● Health Benefits and Paid Time Off
This is a full-time, fully remote, exempt position based in the United States. The
applicant should be available during US western working hours. Salary range is
$80,000-$100,000 per year depending on experience, plus health benefits and paid
time off.

In addition to evaluating each candidate’s relative ability, as demonstrated by quality
and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively
evaluating each candidate:
We are looking for a passionate, creative, well-organized, self-motivated, and energetic
individual who enjoys networking, problem solving, and financial management.
Applicants should be strong proponents of community voice, comfortable with
dynamic social and political situations and solutions-oriented. Supervisory and project
management experience combined with strong written and verbal communication skills
and the ability to negotiate sensitive policy, technical, and interpersonal challenges
with tact and diplomacy are essential for this position.
Candidates who have knowledge and skills leading non-profit organizations, housing
projects, and/or proposing and implementing grant-based development programs are
ideal.
