About Sunrise Movement

Sunrise is building a movement of young people across race and class to stop the climate crisis and win a Green New Deal. We will force the government to end the reign of fossil fuel elites, invest in Black, brown and working class communities, and create millions of good union jobs. We’re on a mission to put everyday people back in charge and build a world that works for all of us, now and for generations to come. In November 2018, following our 6-month 75-person electoral organizing fellowship, Sunrise Semester, we launched the campaign for a Green New Deal alongside Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. We’ve achieved some big wins: the Inflation Reduction Act was the biggest climate bill in history, the American Climate Corps will create 20,000 green jobs. Now we are running a campaign to push President Biden to declare a climate emergency and use every tool at his disposal to mobilize the US government to save lives.

Sunrise Movement Education Fund (501c3) and Sunrise (501c4) are organizations dedicated to supporting the mobilization and leadership of Sunrise Movement.
