Salary Range: $80,000-$90,000
We’re looking for an Associate Director, Polling and Analytics to work with our broader communications team to oversee and manage a robust public opinion research and analytics pipeline. Our team develops and executes measurement plans through polling and analytics to strategically inform progressive campaigns across the entire organization, all of which are dedicated to producing a more just and inclusive economy and society.
We develop products that range from internal analyses to products for public release. This position will report directly to the Director, Polling & Analytics and work in tandem to carry out this work and identify ways to continue expanding our analytical capacity.
You’ll be someone who is intimately versed on broader trends in public opinion and is able to be a resource to everyone at The Hub Project. You’ll report on them to our team and partners across the progressive movement. You’ll have experience managing all aspects of the research lifecycle on quantitative and qualitative public opinion research projects, direct experience with overseeing modeling, targeting, and measurement of campaigns. You will be the day-to-day lead on managing the Navigator Research project, a consistent public opinion research project designed to act as a consistent, flexible, responsive tool to inform policy debates. You’ll also coordinate day-to-day relationships with external consultants and assist with data and information sharing with key partners that we frequently work with.
As the Associate Director, Polling & Analytics, some of the specific responsibilities you have will include:
● Working with external consultants to oversee all components of multiple, simultaneous quantitative and qualitative research lifecycles, including questionnaire design, discussion guides, sample design, field management, data analysis, and both written and graphical reporting for both Navigator Research products and other public opinion research projects that inform our campaigns.
● Presenting and communicating results from polling, data, and analytics projects both internally to strategically inform and advance The Hub Project’s issue advocacy campaigns, as well as to stakeholders across the progressive community, elected officials, and the press.
● Managing outreach and network of leading progressive polling and analytics vendors in conjunction with the Director, including serving as the day-to-day contact for management of research products and deliverables.
● Providing mentorship, feedback, and professional development to two direct reports (one focused on managing the data and analytics needs of the organization, and a polling and analytics associate providing support for all team projects), including organizing their workflow to accomplish necessary objectives, giving them thoughtful feedback on a regular cadence, and managing their professional development.
● Working with the Director, Polling & Analytics to identify new opportunities and potential partnerships whenever possible to expand The Hub Project’s capacity for advanced quantitative measurement and assessment and employ cutting-edge techniques and methodologies.
● Serving as the primary point of contact to all departments within the organization – research and policy, campaigns, digital, and communications – that are engaged in quantitative measurement and assessment.
● Perform other duties as assigned.

● You have 5 to 7 years of significant experience working in survey research, data science, and/or analytics (such as with a research supplier, market research organization, or media outlet).
● You have experience with statistical software packages and/or programming skills, such as R, Python, SQL, SPSS, and/or STATA.
● You are familiar managing all elements of the survey research lifecycle.
● You have experience working with voter files, particularly TargetSmart and/or Catalist.
● You’re extremely organized and pay close attention to detail.
● You have significant experience translating complex datasets into key findings and strategic recommendations and presenting them to a variety of different types of audiences and stakeholders.
In addition, it would be a bonus if…
● You have experience working with data visualization software, such as Tableau or GIS.
● You have experience with graphic design software, such as Photoshop or InDesign.
