Canvassers will be part of a team that helps develop and implement a pro-democracy deep canvassing experiment, with the majority of the position’s hours being door-to-door canvassing. The position will be part of a 3-5 month program that has at least 750 in-person conversations with voters, plus additional conversations by phone, as needed.

Areas of Work
Voter Contact
Participate as a canvasser, meeting weekly voter contact goals
Help prep all voter contact materials, including scripts and turf
Participate in team script iteration sessions
Make turf adjustment recommendations and implement need changes
Participate in daily debriefs and ensure daily reporting gets to Canvass Lead

Data Management
Ensure all of your canvass data is within the system within 24-48 hours after any canvass shift.
Support Canvass Lead on data pulls.

Participate in weekly canvass team calls/meetings with Canvass Lead and Directors
Complete weekly action reports on canvass results

Ability to work at least 10-20 hours per week, during prime canvass times (evenings and weekends)
Genuine curiosity about others, including those who have very different views and life experiences
Willingness to proactively engage strangers in difficult conversations
Ability to complete daily canvass reports and participate in weekly team meetings
Ability to go door-to-door to have conversations with voters.
Ability to travel up to 150 miles outside of homebase.
Willingness to have self videoed for internal learning and use.

This is a temporary, part-time hourly position at the rate of $15.00/hour. The position will run from July 8th – November or until the project is completed. The position reports to the Canvass Lead, who is located in Boise, Idaho. All canvassers will receive access to the needed tools and technology for the required work.

All Idaho locations will be considered for this position.
