Overview

The United Vision Project is a data-driven, collaborative outreach program connecting with hundreds of thousands of contacts across the country who may be susceptible to white nationalist and authoritarian ideologies to learn more about their beliefs, and develop strategies and interventions to connect with folks, separate them from the narrative that America is white, and give them real on-ramps to other ideas. We train volunteers in active listening, hard conversations, and our data collection method; and we’re looking for a skilled organizer to help expand our volunteer apparatus and increase volunteer retention as Retention Lead.

The Retention Lead is responsible for keeping volunteers engaged and invested in the program, as well as moving them into deeper action and roles. The Retention Lead will also recruit, onboard, and train Retention Team members to meet Retention Team membership goals in support of UVP outreach goals.

Retention Lead Responsibilities:

  • Scale our base of consistent outreach volunteers through volunteer retention.
  • Build and coordinate a volunteer-led team focused on increasing volunteer retention.
  • Build and maintain systems for increasing conversion rates: tracking signups, no-shows and active volunteers.
  • Clarify and smooth systems of support, ongoing development, and communication /feedback for and from volunteers.
  • Develop + implement Program Evaluation; coordinate + implement evaluation results with Program Leads and appropriate Team Leads
  • Develop, implement, and manage recurring retention events
  • Coordinate/communicate with Program Leads, Communication Leads, and other Team Leads as needed

Experience and Skills needed:

  • Strong grounding in organizing and relational organizing values, methods, practices
  • Demonstrated experience and track record scaling relational organizing programs
  • Demonstrated experience and track record developing and implementing retention systems/practices for organizing/relational organizing outreach programs
  • Demonstrated fluency and interest in antiracist, anti-authoritarian, feminist praxis
  • G-suite competency; including downloading, creating, editing, sharing Google sheets, docs, slides, and folders
  • Alignment with UVP values and core leadership agreements
