Yes 4 Minneapolis
Position Status: Exempt, part-time, benefits eligible temporary position for 8 months
Payment: $45,000/ year, benefits stipend will be provided

Yes 4 Minneapolis Campaign:
The Minneapolis city charter currently requires the City to maintain a police department with a minimum level of sworn officers on staff. Our charter campaign will propose amending the charter to remove these requirements, and may make other changes to promote community-led safety proposed by community members throughout our process.
The goal of the campaign is to win a majority support for a “Yes” vote to change the Minneapolis City Charter. The Yes 4 Minneapolis campaign will require extensive community conversation and political education to determine what the charter amendment should say; canvassing for signatures to add the amendment to the 2021 city ballot; and employing community, labor, and grassroots organizing to recruit supporters to vote for the amendment in November 2021. Deliverables include: 1) signatures gathered, 2) direct voter contact reports (doors, calls, etc), 3) volunteers trained, and 4) community members supportive of the campaign.
The Yes 4 Minneapolis is a c3 and c4 campaign with the purpose to advocate and educate on alternative safety strategies within the municipal context, and build community partnerships to execute those strategies. The Yes 4 Minneapolis Admin Coordinator will report directly to the Campaign Manager.
Directly support and coordinate Campaign Manager
Support projects for overall campaign development (staff evaluations, materials, retreat planning & logistics, etc)
Meeting coordination and scheduling for CM directly and other leadership bodies
Support campaign manager (and staff as needed) in scheduling and setting up important meetings with partners, funders, and community members
Managing Platforms and Communication Systems
Organize systems for staff to access platforms, logins, files, etc.
Organize and archive important documents
Set up and manage email communication; manage general email
Checking the Yes 4 Minneapolis general email and flagging emails for followup
Supporting data management including Asana and Slack
Operations, finance, and HR support
Support yes 4 minneapolis budgeting
Support & coordinate all new hire processes
Work to train self & staff on new operations systems
Support program staff with logistics, tech, etc. for events & activities
Purchasing supplies, software, etc and coordinating with yes 4 minneapolis contractors & vendors; developing MOUs and ensure timely payments
Taking notes during yes 4 minneapolis meetings
Assisting with meeting scheduling and calendar management (e.g. setting up zoom meeting links, flagging when there are calendar conflicts, etc.)
Other administrative tasks & projects as needed

We are looking for a person who is committed to Black Liberation, has familiarity with spreadsheets, zoom, google suite, etc., able to manage multiple moving parts, and is excited to develop strong systems to support collaborative leadership in order to build powerful campaigns. We need someone who is okay with being a part of a group that is still very much developing strong systems. The ideal person will have some flexibility in their calendar to support emergent needs and has access to a cell phone and computer (though we can consider plans to support this). This position will be part time at 20-28 hours per week.
Experience and Qualifications:
We’re seeking candidates who excel in relationship-building, are results-oriented, have strong management skills, and commitment to Black liberation. You should have:
1+ years of admin experience
Commitment to racial, economic, gender, LGBTQIA+, and disability justice.
Working in collective or cooperative settings
Experience or interest in consensus-based decision-making frameworks
Comfort communicating needs and boundaries as they arise
Demonstrated commitment to accountability, measuring outcomes, and a results-oriented culture
Donor prospecting and research experience preferred
Stellar communications skills, both written and oral
The position is Minneapolis-based and will require the candidate to live in the Twin Cities and do in-person work, once it is safe to do so. The responsibilities of the position will not shift significantly since our team already works remotely, but the pandemic will require all staff to be particularly flexible, resourceful, and innovative when it comes to building relationships with the rest of the team and with donors and funders. All meetings and retreats are currently being held online. However, signature collection requires in-person contact, so a component of the campaign will require COVID-safe in-person activities. During the pandemic, we are committed to supporting each other to take the time needed to care for ourselves and loved ones.
